GTA 5 phone cheats

Every GTA 5 cell phone cheat number, how to dial them on PS4, PS5, Xbox and PC, and the three numbers guides disagree on.

In shortReported

Open the in-game phone, go to Contacts, open the keypad and dial 1-999 followed by the cheat number, then call. It works on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, but not on PS3 or Xbox 360.

Updated

How to enter cheats

  1. 1Press Up (the D-pad, or the up arrow on PC) to bring out the phone, then open Contacts.
  2. 2Open the keypad: Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox, Space on PC.
  3. 3Dial the full number, including 1-999, and press the same button again to call.

Worth knowing

  • The phone does not save cheats, so dial the number again each time you want one.
  • Three numbers differ between guides: Fast run, Drunk mode and the Trashmaster. Both versions are listed. If one does not work, try the other.
  • Phone numbers are the only way to spawn the Dodo, Duke O’Death and Kraken on console, and each one has to be unlocked first.

Before you use cheats

  • Cheats only work in Story Mode, never in GTA Online.
  • Any cheat switches off trophies and achievements for the rest of that game session. You can still save, but cheats are not saved with it. Quit and restart the game to earn trophies again.
  • Using a cheat during a mission caps that attempt at a Bronze medal.
  • Some cheats are blocked during missions or in certain places. You will see “Cheat Denied”.
  • Entering most cheats again switches them off.
  • There is no money cheat in GTA 5.

Phone cheats FAQ

Do phone cheats work on PS3 and Xbox 360?

No. The phone cheats arrived with the PS4 and Xbox One versions in 2014, and the PC version has them too. On PS3 and Xbox 360 you use the button codes.

Do phone cheats disable trophies and achievements?

Yes, the same as button codes. They stay off until you quit and restart the game.

Rockstar has never published a list of GTA V cheat codes. Each code here matches in at least two independent guides; where they disagree, both versions are shown.
